Hearty bratwurst and caper sauce

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 8 pieces of bratwurst, coarse
  • 2 onions
  • 1 jar capers
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 1 jar white wine (Soave or other)
  • 2 glasses of vegetable broth
  • Salt
  • possibly sauce thickener, lighter
  • 2 tbsp oil or clarified butter
  • Lemon pepper
  • oregano
  • marjoram
  • 2 garlic cloves

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

goes great with boiled potatoes

Remove the sausage skin, peel the onions, and slice them into wedges. Brown the sausage pieces in hot fat and add the onions. Deglaze with white wine and vegetable stock and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the capers, crushed garlic, and seasonings, and season to taste. Finally, stir in the crème fraîche and parsley.
