- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 1 pinch(s) of salt and pepper
- 2 tsp sriracha sauce or other hot sauce
- 1 pinch(s) cinnamon powder
- 1 pinch of garlic powder
- 1 pinch(s) sweet paprika powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Dice the onion and sauté in butter or oil in a large pot or frying pan until translucent. Add the minced meat and brown for a few minutes. Meanwhile, cut the eggplant and bell pepper into approximately 1 cm pieces and finely chop the garlic. When the minced meat is no longer raw, add the vegetables and garlic and sauté everything for a few more minutes, until the eggplant is just tender. Then add the passata and the ajvar. You can add the whole jar of ajvar or just a few tablespoons, depending on your preference. Then season with the hot sauce and spices and let it simmer for a few minutes. The sweetness of the cinnamon combined with the heat gives the dish an exciting flavor. You can top the stew with cheese, serve it with pasta, or eat it on its own.
