Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 8 tbsp sauerkraut
  • 2 onions
  • 4 burger buns
  • 2 hand cheeses
  • n. B. Sauce (Green Sauce – Grie Soß)
  • e.g. arugula
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 cl cola
  • 1 tbsp, levelled sugar
  • Butter for frying
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

with hand cheese, sauerkraut and semolina sauce

Peel the onions, dice 1 onion, and fry in oil. Slice the other onion into rings and roast in oil, then set aside. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Add the diced onion and egg and mix well. Divide the ground beef into 4 portions. Halve the Handkäse cheese crosswise, press it into the patties, and form them with a burger press (or by hand). Brown the sauerkraut in a little butter and season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Deglaze with cola. Fry the bacon. Toast the burger buns and grill the patties for 3 minutes on each side. Cover the bottom of the buns with arugula, then add the bacon and grilled patty. Top with sauerkraut, green sauce, and the toasted onion rings.
