Hibiscus Sticks
The perfect hibiscus sticks recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 150 g White couverture
- 200 g Flour
- 150 g Cold butter
- 50 g Sugar
- 1 Egg yolk
- 50 g Chopped pistachio nuts
- Dried hibiscus flowers
- Finely grate 50 grams of the couverture. Knead with the flour, butter, sugar and the egg yolk to make a shortcrust pastry. Wrapped in foil, cool in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Cover the tray with baking paper and the dough approx. 1 cm. roll out thick. Bake lightly for about 15 minutes. Still warm in 2×7 cm. cut long sticks.
- Melt the remaining couverture in a small freezer bag in a water bath. Cut off a small corner from it and cover the dough sticks with it. Sprinkle immediately with pistachios and hibiscus flowers.
- Hibiscus flowers can usually be found in any pharmacy or herbalist. 20 grams cost 71 cents.
