Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 small pita breads
- 3 tomatoes, sliced
- olive oil
- 2 shallots, finely diced
- 16 black olives, pitted, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp capers, finely chopped
- Parsley, medium-finely chopped
- salt and pepper
- possibly tuna, from the can
- possibly ketchup
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Maltese snack
Cut the pita bread horizontally so that they are still slightly connected. Brush the cut surfaces with olive oil. Then top with the ingredients one after the other and finally season with salt and pepper. For the tuna version, the Maltese like to use tomato ketchup instead of fresh tomatoes; the rest of the toppings are identical. Both are very tasty.
