Homemade mulled wine in advance

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • ¾ liter white wine
  • ¾ liter rosé wine
  • 1 ½ liters of red wine (Bordeaux)
  • 250 g brown rock sugar
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 orange(s), organic
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 5 carnations
  • ½ tsp allspice powder
  • 2 star anise

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 30 minutes

Wash the lemon and one orange thoroughly. Grate the lemon zest with a grater. Cut the washed orange into thin slices. Juice the remaining two oranges. Heat the various wine varieties with rock candy, grated lemon zest, orange juice, orange slices, and spices. Remove the pot from the heat and let stand, covered, for 1-2 days. Heat again, strain, and pour into clean bottles, filling just below the rim. Seal immediately and let cool upside down. Our bottled mulled wine will keep for at least 1 year.
