Melt the honey in a little vodka over gentle heat, stirring constantly. Then stir in the remaining vodka and the spirit. Add the cinnamon sticks, vanilla pod, and lemon peel, and let it sit on the stove for at least 20 minutes, stirring constantly. Never allow the mixture to boil. Allow to cool and pour into a tall, narrow container. Seal tightly and let it steep for at least 10 days in a dark, not too cool place. Then remove the spices and pour the liqueur into wide-mouthed glass carafes. Do not keep it too cool, as otherwise the honey will solidify. Tip: Enjoy in moderation.
