Hummus Recipe: This is How You Succeed with The Chickpea Spread

The basic recipe for delicious hummus

For the delicious chickpea paste, you need 1 can of chickpeas (drained weight: 250 grams), 2 cloves of garlic, 120 grams of tahini, the juice of one lemon, 100 milliliters of cold water, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin and also 1 tablespoon Olive oil.

  1. First, drain the water from the can of chickpeas and keep 50 milliliters of the chickpea water.
  2. Now add the lemon juice, garlic cloves, and salt to the blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Then add the tahini and mix again. With the mixer running, slowly pour in the cold water and chickpea water.
  4. Now add the chickpeas, olive oil, and cumin and mix for about 3 minutes until everything is evenly blended and creamy.
  5. Then season the hummus with salt and lemon juice.

Delicious zucchini hummus

Zucchini hummus is perfect when you want a change from the regular hummus. You will need 750 zucchini, 3 teaspoons of tahini, 4 stalks of cilantro, the juice of half a lemon, salt, pepper, ground paprika, a pinch of cumin, and some olive oil.

  1. First wash the zucchini and then cut them into small strips.
  2. Then sauté the zucchini on both sides.
  3. Now put all the ingredients, except for the spices, in your blender and puree everything until the mixture is creamy.
  4. Then season the hummus with salt, pepper, paprika, and olive oil.

Tomato Basil Hummus

A tomato and basil hummus is also a great variant of the usual hummus. For this recipe, you will need 1 can of chickpeas (drained weight 250 grams), 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, 3 tablespoons of tahini, 1 clove of garlic, 1 teaspoon of salt, half a bunch of basil, 8 sun-dried tomatoes in oil and 3 tablespoons of the tomato oil.

  1. First, drain the chickpeas and rinse them with water.
  2. Wash your basil and remove the leaves from the stems.
  3. Then mince your garlic and pickled tomatoes.
  4. Then put all the ingredients in your blender and blend until you get a creamy paste.
  5. Finally, you can season the hummus with spices and olive oil.
