Why hummus is healthy
Hummus is mainly made from chickpeas. Together with some spices and a few other ingredients, a delicious cream is created.

The basic recipe for hummus
Making the hummus is really anything but difficult. All you need is a decent blender and you’re good to go.
- For a sufficient amount, you need 250g chickpeas, 8 tablespoons olive oil, 3 cloves of garlic, 4 tablespoons sesame paste, and 4 tablespoons lemon juice.
- You can decide for yourself how you want to season the paste. We recommend a combination of salt, cayenne pepper, and some paprika powder.
- First, you need to soak the chickpeas the night before. In our next article, we will show you how to do this correctly for chickpeas.
- After about 12 hours of soaking, cook the chickpeas. The legumes should then be soft.
- Now just put all the ingredients in your blender and mix everything together. Of course, you can decide the consistency for yourself.
- Then don’t forget to taste and the hummus is ready.
