Even hummus, which you make yourself without any tahini, can take your breakfast to a new level. The recipe that we have put together for you in this article can also be wonderfully adapted to your taste.
Make hummus yourself – You can also do it without tahini
Sesame paste is now available in most supermarkets. But if you don’t have tahini at home, you can still make delicious hummus.
- Take a can of chickpeas and pour the entire contents into a bowl. You can save the liquid and use it to make aquafaba, for example.
- Remove the chickpeas from the liquid and place them in a bowl of water. Now you can remove the shells of the chickpeas by simply stirring the water with your hand. This step is not necessary, but your hummus will be creamier.
- Now put the chickpeas in a blender. Here you can now let your imagination run wild. However, a base of lemon juice, olive oil, and salt is recommended.
- Mix everything until you get a creamy paste. You can refine the cream with spices, fresh herbs, or pesto.
- Finish off with salt, lemon juice, and white pepper to taste. Instead of tahini, you can also add a tablespoon of sesame oil.
- Tip: The recipe can be varied perfectly. Fresh garlic also tastes very good in hummus. With some cooked beetroot, your hummus gets a great pink color.
