Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • ½ liter of milk
  • salt and pepper
  • 125 g butter or smoked bacon
  • some butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Combine peeled and grated raw potatoes in a saucepan with the boiling milk and simmer over low heat. Season with salt and pepper. Pour into a buttered, not-too-small ovenproof dish, making a hollow in the center with the back of a tablespoon. Add melted butter or fried bacon bits. Bake in a preheated oven at 250°C (480°F) for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Serve with a cold, foamy Guinness!
