Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 apples, sour
  • 200 g mixed berries (e.g. blackberries, raspberries and blueberries)
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 g wheat flour
  • 100 g butter, cold
  • 3 tbsp desiccated coconut
  • 3 tbsp oat flakes
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • ½ tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

warm dessert

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Peel, quarter, and core the apples. Thinly slice the apple pieces. Wash and drain the berries. In a baking dish, toss the fruit with half of the sugar (50g) and spread evenly. In a bowl, crumble the flour with cocoa powder and the cold butter with your fingers until crumbly, then crumble in the remaining sugar, desiccated coconut, cinnamon powder, oats, and salt. Spread the crumble over the fruit and place the dish in the oven. Bake the dessert for about 40 minutes until golden brown. In Ireland, fruit baked with crumble is a popular dessert. You can get really creative with this recipe; almost any fruit will work. For example, you could try it with peaches, apricots, pears, or rhubarb. I also recommend adding chocolate chips. It tastes divine.
