Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 180 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 tbsp orange liqueur or orange juice
  • 1 orange(s), untreated, grated peel
  • 25 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g almonds
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Flour for the work surface

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cantuccini

Knead the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, vanilla sugar, liqueur, orange zest, butter, and eggs with a dough hook until smooth. Knead in the almonds whole. Cover the dough and chill for about 30 minutes. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Form the dough into about 4 rolls on a lightly floured surface and place them on the tray, leaving space between them. Bake in a preheated oven (convection oven: 175°C) for 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool. Cut the rolls into diagonal slices about 1 cm thick. Place cut-side down on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in the preheated oven at the same temperature for another 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool.
