Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 125 g flour
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp marjoram, if desired
  • 200 g bacon, streaky, diced
  • 50 g lard or clarified butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Peel and grate the potatoes and grate the onions. Mix both with flour and eggs, and season with the spices. Brush a baking sheet with lard, spread the dough on it, and top with the bacon. Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake for 60 minutes. It tastes best served straight from the oven with a side of salad.
