Variation of the French Croque-Monsieur

The sandwich slices are spread with butter on both sides. Then, one slice is topped with cooked ham, turkey breast, and cheese, and the other is folded over. Whisk the egg and milk in a deep dish and toss the sandwich in it. Then fry in butter until golden brown. Arrange the sandwich on a plate, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and drizzle with a little maple syrup. If you like, enjoy it plain; for the braver, I recommend adding some mustard and jam. It sounds totally crazy, but so far everyone who’s tried the recipe has been impressed!
