Karadordeva snicla – Serbian stuffed schnitzel

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 large pork schnitzels
  • some salt and pepper
  • some spice(s) (meat seasoning of your choice)
  • some paprika powder
  • 100 g sour cream
  • 50 g cream cheese
  • some cheese, grated
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 50 g flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Pound the pork schnitzels thinly and season one side with salt, pepper, meat seasoning, and paprika powder. Refrigerate the seasoned schnitzels for 1 hour. Mix the sour cream with the cream cheese and spread it on the seasoned side of the schnitzels. Sprinkle with grated cheese and place the ham on top. Roll up the schnitzels and secure with a toothpick. Roll each roll in flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the schnitzel rolls all over. Then place the schnitzel rolls in a baking dish. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat) and bake for about 15 minutes. Per serving: about 190 kcal.
