Kiwi Chutney

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 5 kiwis
  • 4 shallots
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 small bulb(s) of ginger
  • 2 tbsp, heaped raisins
  • ½ tsp coriander
  • 125 ml water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp vinegar or balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Asian kiwi chutney with ginger as a side dish to fondue or meat

Peel the kiwis, remove the stems, and dice the flesh. Peel and finely chop the shallots. Peel and finely grate the ginger. Bring the sugar to a boil with 125 ml of water and cook the kiwi cubes until soft. Add the ginger, shallots, raisins, coriander, and lemon juice to the kiwis. Stir in the vinegar and honey and simmer over low heat, stirring continuously, until thickened. Allow the chutney to cool and serve in a small bowl.
