Knauzen with cheese and ham

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g Emmental cheese, grated
  • 150 g raw ham, cut into cubes, low-fat
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 375 ml water, lukewarm

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Mix the flour with the cheese and ham in a bowl with a lid. Crumble the yeast into a shaker and add the salt and sugar. Close the bowl and shake until the yeast is liquid. This takes about 2 minutes and really works. Add the liquid yeast and lukewarm water to the flour mixture and knead everything together. Close the bowl and let the dough rest until the lid opens after about 30 minutes. Place the Knauzen on a baking sheet lined with baking paper; the amount per Knauzen is about 2 tablespoons. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat) and bake the Knauzen on the middle rack for about 20 minutes, until they are lightly browned. It’s a hit at barbecues, campfires, and with children.
