Kohlrabi gratin with turkey strips

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g kohlrabi
  • 500 g waxy potatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • 500 g turkey breast
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 250 g whipped cream
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Nutmeg, grated
  • 50 g cheese (Gouda), grated
  • 1 tomato(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Clean, peel, quarter, and slice the kohlrabi. Peel, wash, and slice the potatoes. Cook both in boiling salted water for 10 minutes. Wash the meat, pat dry, and cut into strips. Fry in a pan in heated oil for 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper, and remove from the pan. Drain the potatoes and kohlrabi. Layer the turkey and vegetables in two layers in a greased casserole dish. Mix the cream and flour, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and pour over the casserole. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake the gratin in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 30 minutes. Wash, clean, quarter, deseed, and finely dice the tomatoes. Sprinkle over the gratin.
