Kohlrabi hash brown

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 kohlrabi
  • 2 onions
  • 100 g smoked bacon
  • salt and pepper
  • Nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

with fried bacon and onions

Clean and quarter the kohlrabi. Cut the quarters into thick slices. Cook the kohlrabi slices in boiling salted water until al dente, remove from the pan, and set aside. Cut the onion into half-moons and dice the rib bacon. Heat the oil in a wide pan and fry the bacon cubes. Add the onion pieces and fry over medium heat until the onions are soft. Then add the kohlrabi slices and heat through the pan. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
