Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g Kritharaki (rice-shaped noodles)
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 500 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 can of tomatoes, chopped
  • e.g. ketchup
  • 120 g cheese, grated
  • herbs, Italian
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cook the pasta until al dente and drain in a colander. Drain well. Meanwhile, finely chop the onion and garlic clove. Sauté with the minced meat until finely crumbled. Add the passata and canned tomatoes and bring back to a boil. Season with Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Add ketchup, if desired. This gives the dish a slight sweetness and reduces the acidity of the tomatoes. Transfer the pasta to a bowl, pour the hot sauce over it, and add the cheese. Mix everything together well. Serve with a fresh, crisp salad.
