Lamb's lettuce with peppers and sausage

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g lamb’s lettuce
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 2 onions
  • 100 g meat sausage
  • 100 g sausage (beer ham)
  • 100 g cheese (Emmental)
  • 2 tbsp oil (safflower or sunflower oil)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup meat broth, strong
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch of caraway powder
  • 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 bunch of chives

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

hearty starter salad

Drain the washed lamb’s lettuce. Peel and deseed the tomatoes, and dice them. Dice the peppers and onions. Add the peppers and tomatoes to the lamb’s lettuce. Cut the pork sausage, beer ham, and Emmental cheese into strips. Finely chop the chives. For the dressing, heat the oil in a pan. Sauté the peeled garlic cloves, which have been ground with salt, until lightly browned. Add the onions, pork sausage, and beer ham and sauté briefly. Deglaze with stock, stir in the vinegar and chives, and bring to a boil. Season to taste and remove from the heat. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and add the cheese.
