Leberkäse bread with cheese and egg

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 3 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 slice(s) Leberkäse, fine Bavarian
  • 4 slices of cheese (Edam)
  • 4 eggs
  • Parsley
  • butter
  • oil
  • butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the onions into rings and the garlic into the smallest possible cubes. Fry the onions in oil. Brush the bread with butter. Preheat the oven to 150°C (top/bottom heat). Spread the browned onions and diced garlic evenly on the bread. Alternatively, you can then place the bread slices in the preheated oven to toast. Fry the Leberkäse (meatloaf) as desired. (You can also use six slices instead of four and then divide 1 1/2 slices between each slice.) Fry the eggs in a pan. Remove the bread from the oven and top it with the toppings. Place the Leberkäse slices evenly on the onion and garlic topping, then top with the Edam cheese. To top it off, place the fried eggs on the bread. Sprinkle with parsley. Place in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 5 minutes, until the cheese has melted. This amount will fill two very hungry, young, adult men!
