Lemon Syrup
The perfect lemon syrup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 Organic lemons, zest and juice
- 100 g Sugar
- Wash the lemons thoroughly and rub dry. rub off the peel, but only the yellow one
- Halve the lemons and squeeze out the juice. reduce the juice with sugar to a thick syrup. this takes about 10 minutes. about 70 ml of liquid should remain.
- Remove the syrup from the stove, add the lemon zest and leave to stand for 5 minutes. then pour the syrup into a clean glass and seal it
- Who doesn’t know that …. you need lemon zest and have no more lemons in the house or they have become hard or moldy in the refrigerator and I don’t like the ready-made ones. use a teaspoon of syrup instead of a lemon zest. Also great for a lemonade. the syrup has a long shelf life.
