Lemon Syrup

The perfect lemon syrup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 Organic lemons, zest and juice
  • 100 g Sugar
  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly and rub dry. rub off the peel, but only the yellow one
  2. Halve the lemons and squeeze out the juice. reduce the juice with sugar to a thick syrup. this takes about 10 minutes. about 70 ml of liquid should remain.
  3. Remove the syrup from the stove, add the lemon zest and leave to stand for 5 minutes. then pour the syrup into a clean glass and seal it
  4. Who doesn’t know that …. you need lemon zest and have no more lemons in the house or they have become hard or moldy in the refrigerator and I don’t like the ready-made ones. use a teaspoon of syrup instead of a lemon zest. Also great for a lemonade. the syrup has a long shelf life.
