Lucky Charm Made from Marzipan

The perfect lucky charm made from marzipan recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 115 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 45 g Powdered sugar
  • 0,25 tsp Rose water
  • Food coloring red, white, black, yellow, pink
  • Some powdered sugar for later kneading with the colors
  1. Knead the raw marzipan mass with powdered sugar and rose water until a smooth, non-sticky dough is formed. Then divide into the following portions: for red = 40 g, white = 45 g, black = 40 g, yellow = 15 g, pink = 20 g
  2. Now color the individual portions one after the other. To do this, lightly dust the work surface with a little powdered sugar, plate the portion on it, spread the color (amount depending on intensity) and knead. If the marzipan becomes a bit sticky again, just add a little more powdered sugar and knead everything until the mixture is well colored and no longer sticks.
  3. Halve the “white” and branch off another approx. 5 g from one half. Shape the larger half into a cube and the slightly smaller half into a foot for a mushroom. Have the remaining small amount ready for points, eyes, etc. Later dab the dots on the cube with black food coloring.
  4. Divide the “red” so that one half is slightly larger. Shape the hat for the mushroom from the smaller one and the body for the beetle from the larger one.
  5. Form 1/3 of the “black” head of the beetle and place it on the red body of the beetle and press it down firmly. Branch off a tiny amount of the remaining black (for eyes and points) and form the cylinder from the remaining mass.
  6. Shape “yellow” into a roll of approx. 11-12 cm, bend it into a horseshoe, lightly plate and model.
  7. Shape “Pink” into a lucky pig …. let your imagination run wild ….. Finally, use the remaining white to add the dots to the mushroom, glue the eyes of the pig and beetle from a bit of white and black and round them put a white ribbon on the hat.
  8. Take clovers for good luck and decorate everything for the New Year’s Eve buffet ………. birthday but also ………. (Link for the shamrocks see here: lucky shamrock cookies
