Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g pasta (macaroni)
  • 250 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 small can of tomato paste
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 200 g grated cheese (Emmental or gratin cheese)
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Finnish macaroni casserole

Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions. Fry the ground beef in a little oil until crumbly, mix with tomato paste, dust with flour, and deglaze with a little water. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for a few minutes. Transfer the cooked pasta to a greased, ovenproof dish and fold in the seasoned ground beef. Whisk the milk and eggs. Pour the egg mixture over the pasta and ground beef mixture. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in the oven at 225°C for about 20 minutes.
