Mahonia apple jelly

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ¼ liter juice (mahonia juice), boiled from approx. 400 g mahonia
  • 500 ml apple juice, unsweetened (preferably direct juice)
  • 1 packet of gelling sugar (3:1)
  • 1 pack of citric acid

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Combine the cooled mahonia juice and apple juice in a large saucepan, add the gelling sugar and citric acid. Mix everything thoroughly, stir constantly, and heat at the highest temperature. Boil vigorously for 1 minute. Test for setting. Pour into jars while still hot and seal immediately. Let stand upside down for 5 minutes. It sets reliably and is very colorful (wear an apron!).
