Make an egg in the oven – that’s how it works

If you want to prepare eggs in the oven, you should consider the following things:

  • From an internal temperature of 62 degrees, the protein in the egg starts to set. These temperatures are not only reached in the saucepan, but also the oven. Here, however, the process takes a little longer.
  • If the oven has already reached a temperature of 200 degrees, the egg needs around 9 to 12 minutes. The breakfast egg can also be made in the oven without any problems.
  • However, you should not forget the time. After about 20 minutes, a water vapor explosion can occur. This is not necessarily dangerous, but it is also not recommended for your oven.
  • If you want to prepare a hard-boiled egg in the oven, you should choose a maximum temperature between 160 and 180 degrees.
  • Here the eggs need about 30 minutes.
  • Tip: If you are preparing several eggs at the same time, you can simply place them in a muffin tin. This makes it much easier and safer to get the eggs out of the oven.
