Make Caramel Syrup Yourself – That’s How It Works

Caramel syrup – this is how you quickly make it yourself

Whether with ice cream, yogurt, waffles, pudding, or cake: Everything tastes twice as good with a good portion of caramel syrup. And best of all: You hardly need any ingredients for the sweet temptation and it is also quick to make.

  • In fact, you only need two ingredients: sugar and water. The ratio of the two ingredients should be 1:1 so that the caramel syrup is nice and firm. If you prefer it to be thinner, add more water accordingly.
  • First, bring the water to a boil. While the water is boiling, take another saucepan and heat it up.
  • The sugar is then added to the heated pot, which you stir constantly.
  • As soon as the sugar has turned into a brownish, liquid mass, carefully add the hot water.
  • While you continue to stir diligently, leave the caramel syrup on the warm stovetop for about two minutes.
  • Of course, you can refine the caramel syrup a little, for example by adding a little cinnamon.
