Mannheim Apple Pie

The perfect mannheim apple pie recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 150 g Butter
  • 225 g Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt

Topping

  • 800 g Apple (fresh)
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cinammon

Molding

  • 80 g Sugar
  • 80 g Almonds
  • 100 ml Cream
  1. Knead a smooth dough with cool hands and leave to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, for the topping, peel and quarter the apples. Cut out the core. Cut the apple quarters lengthwise into slices about 3 mm thick. Drizzle with lemon juice. Mix sugar and cinnamon.

  2. Press the dough into a greased springform pan, pulling up the edge. Lay the apple slices on the dough like scales and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Place the mold in the preheated oven on the middle rail and pre-bake at 200 for about 25 minutes. (hot air 180)

  3. Remove the cake from the oven, mix the ingredients for the icing well and pour over the cake. Place in the oven again and bake at the same temperature for another 20 minutes.
