Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 cup of natural yogurt
- ¼ liter mayonnaise
- 4 cloves garlic
- Spice mix (gyros or tzatziki spice)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 pinches of salt
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 5 minutes
Combine the yogurt and mayonnaise in a bowl and mix. Then add the garlic cloves, using a garlic press to adjust the amount to your liking. Mix everything thoroughly again. Then add the spice mix. The amount depends on how spicy you want the garlic sauce to be. Stir, season to taste, and add a little more sugar and salt if necessary. The sauce should have a very spicy flavor at this point, which will fade over time. Leave to stand in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, then add more seasoning if necessary. Other variations are possible with curry powder, curry ketchup, sweet paprika, steak seasoning, and more.
