Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 300 g chicken breast, fillet, alternatively turkey breast
- 1 piece(s) ginger (thumbnail-sized)
- ½ clove(s) garlic
- 4 tbsp soy sauce, sweet (Ketjap Manis), alternatively regular soy sauce and 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp oil (sesame oil, dark)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- possibly chili pepper(s), red
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Finely chop the garlic and ginger. Combine the soy sauce and sesame oil in a bowl, then add the garlic and ginger. If you like it spicier, chop about half a red chili and add it as well. Finally, stir in the cornstarch. Cut the meat into strips, add it to the marinade, and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour, stirring occasionally so the marinade can penetrate thoroughly. Then simply fry in hot oil. Serve with rice. Tip: The flavor is particularly strong if you let the meat marinate overnight. If you like, you can also add 1 tablespoon of sake (Chinese rice wine).
