  • 100 g marzipan paste
  • 3 tbsp almonds, chopped
  • 4 apples
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 125 ml apple juice
  • 1 packet of vanilla sauce powder (for 0.5 l milk)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ liter of milk
  • Mint for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Wash the raisins and drain. Cut the marzipan into large cubes, knead the mixture with the raisins and chopped almonds, and form into about 4 rolls about 1 cm thick. Wash the apples and cut off the tops. Cut out the cores with an apple corer and press a marzipan roll into each hole. Place the apples in an ovenproof dish and drizzle with lemon and apple juice. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25 minutes. Add the apple tops and roast for another 5 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the sauce powder, sugar, and 3 tablespoons of milk. Briefly bring the remaining milk to a boil in a saucepan, remove from the heat, and add the sauce powder, stirring constantly. Briefly bring the sauce back to a boil. Remove the baked apples from the oven and spread the vanilla sauce over them. Sprinkle with raisins and flaked almonds. Replace the lid and serve garnished with mint.
