Marzipan Orange Cookies

The perfect marzipan orange cookies recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Dough:

  • 100 g Cold butter, finely diced
  • 150 g Flour
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 0,5 Organic lemon, zest
  • 1 pinch Salt

Filling:

  • 200 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 200 g Powdered sugar
  • 0,5 Organic orange, zest
  • 0,25 Organic orange, juice
  • 0,25 tube Taste of rum
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 1 pinch Salt

Dough:

  1. Knead the butter, flour, sugar, egg yolk, zest and salt together to form a smooth dough. Flatten a little, wrap in foil and put in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Filling:

  1. In the meantime, roughly chop the marzipan, place in a bowl and mix with orange juice, zest, rum flavor, egg yolk and salt. Then add the powdered sugar and make a spreadable mass.

Completion:

  1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 4 mm thick on a large baking paper. Spread the marzipan mixture up to the edge. Then roll up from the long side with the help of the baking paper and press down a little. Leave in the baking paper and wrap the rolling pin tightly with it. Place in the fridge for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 °. Line the tray with baking paper. Cut the rolling pin into 6 – 8 mm thin slices (it is a bit wobbly) and place them on the baking sheet with a greater distance. Cookies diverge greatly. But doesn’t spoil the taste.
  3. Baking time 10 – 12 minutes on the middle rack. Let the cookies cool down on a wire rack with baking paper.
