Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg potatoes, floury
- 2 ½ dl milk
- 30 g butter
- Salt
- nutmeg
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
mashed potatoes
Wash, peel, and rinse the potatoes, and cut into large chunks. Boil in salted water for about 20-25 minutes. Drain the water. Return the pot to the warm stovetop, cover, and let the water evaporate until the potatoes are dry. Add the milk and butter to the pan and mash the potatoes. Stir vigorously on low heat until the mashed potatoes are fluffy and hot. Season to taste with a little salt and nutmeg.
