when things have to go quickly

This preparation method can be used for any quantity of Maultaschen, depending on how many you have on hand. Cook the Maultaschen in vegetable broth according to the package instructions. Peel and finely dice the onion, then finely dice the bacon. Add a little oil to a pan. Melt the bacon in the pan, then add the onions after a few minutes and sauté until translucent. Cut the Maultaschen into bite-sized slices and add them to the pan. Fry until the Maultaschen have taken on a little color. Deglaze everything with a generous splash of cream. Let the cream simmer slightly. The Maultaschen should not be swimming in the cream, but should be nicely coated in it. Season with salt, pepper, and parsley. We serve this with baguette and salad. In addition to cream, you can also add a little wine or sherry to the Maultaschen.
