Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g minced meat, mixed
- 3 rolls from the day before (or the equivalent amount of white bread)
- salt and pepper
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 bunch parsley, finely chopped
- 1 bunch of chives, finely chopped
- 1 potato(s), boiled, grated (only if needed)
- 1 carrot(s), grated (only if needed)
- 1 egg(s)
- some butter
- Oil for frying
- nutmeg
- Paprika powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Soak the rolls in water. Then squeeze them out firmly and tear them into small pieces. Fry the chopped onions in melted butter, adding the parsley after a while. Finally, add the chives. After frying, let them cool slightly. Then transfer them to a bowl containing the minced meat and egg. Knead thoroughly with clean hands, adding more spices as you go. Season with nutmeg, in particular, as needed. Now add the grated potato and carrot if desired. When the mixture has a doughy consistency and is smelling really good, form it into round cakes and fry them in hot oil. Tip: If the minced meat mixture is too soft, simply add a little more breadcrumbs or oat flakes.
