Meat sausage in a Roman pot

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 ring/s meat sausage, with garlic
  • 2 large apples (Boskoop)
  • 1 bottle of ketchup
  • 5 tbsp mustard, hot

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Peel the skin off the sausage. Cut a slit in the sausage lengthwise down the middle. Spread mustard into the slit and over the sausage. Place the sausage in a watered earthenware pot. Peel and dice the apples and scatter them over the sausage. Finally, spread the ketchup over the top. Cover with the lid. Bake in the oven at 180°C for 45 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes.
