Meatloaf – Spätzle

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g sausage meat for meatloaf (from the butcher)
  • 20 g lard
  • Spice(s) to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Gradually spread the meatloaf mixture onto a small board with a large knife. Then scrape it into a pan with hot lard, just like you would scrape spaetzle, and fry until nicely browned on all sides. Season to taste with a little pepper and/or paprika, or whatever spices you like. I made a potato and carrot mash and a sauce with onions and red bell peppers. A mushroom sauce also works well with this dish.
