Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 egg whites
  • 150 g sugar, very fine
  • ½ lemon(s), the juice
  • 1 tube(s) food coloring, red

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Sugary-sweet hearts for giving, decorating and snacking

Preheat oven to 100°C fan/convection oven. Beat egg whites with a little sugar. Gradually add the remaining sugar until the mixture forms small peaks that stay upright. Squeeze a lemon. Add the juice to the beaten egg whites and mix well. Fit a disposable piping bag with a star-shaped nozzle. Brush the inside of the piping bag with red food coloring and fill with the meringue mixture. Pipe beaten egg white hearts onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper and place in the oven for 1 hour. Then let cool completely.
