Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 1 bell pepper(s), red, diced
- 1 onion(s), diced
- 100 g mushrooms
- 250 g crème fraîche
- 7 tbsp tomato paste
- 300 ml cream
- 100 ml Metaxa
- 100 ml vegetable stock
- 1 ½ tsp soy sauce
- 5 tsp spice mix (gyro spice)
- Sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Sauté the mushrooms in a pan. Then reduce the heat, add the diced onion, and continue to sauté until the onion is translucent. Then add the diced bell pepper and tomato paste and let it sizzle slightly. Deglaze with the Metaxa. Add the crème fraîche, cream, and vegetable stock and simmer for about 12-15 minutes, until the bell peppers are tender enough to taste. Season to taste with soy sauce, sugar, and gyro seasoning. Serve hot. If the sauce is too strong, add a little more stock.
