Milk – Pears

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 pears, not too ripe
  • 250 ml milk
  • ½ vanilla pod(s)
  • 1 carnation(s)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Cornstarch or flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Peel and eighth the pears, then place them in a saucepan. Scrape out the vanilla pod and add it to the pan along with the rest of the ingredients (without the cornstarch or flour). Simmer over low heat until the pears have softened slightly. Thicken with cornstarch or flour (spelt flour is delicious, but it’s not necessary), then simmer for a few more minutes. Serve lukewarm. Caution: The acid in the pears will cause the milk to curdle slightly, but don’t be alarmed; this will go away once it thickens.
