Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red or green
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 can of tomatoes (chunked)
  • some meat broth
  • some salt
  • some pepper
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 bread roll, dry
  • some oregano, fresh
  • some basil, fresh
  • some oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

First, chop the onion, bell pepper, garlic, oregano, and basil into small pieces and set aside. Soak the dry bread roll in water and then briefly squeeze out the water. Now mix the minced meat with the bread roll, egg, salt, and pepper and knead well. Fry the onion pieces in the oil until translucent, then add the tomato paste and stir until a sediment forms. Deglaze with a little meat stock and add the chopped tomatoes, garlic, oregano, and basil. Then add the meat mixture (if you like, you can also form a few small meatballs from the mixture) and the bell peppers and simmer over medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Note: Adjust the quantities of spices and herbs according to your taste.
