Instructions

Working time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 40 minutes

including “Bananaaa” – makes about 40 pieces

Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and flavoring and mix well. Finally, gradually mix in the flour and knead everything into a smooth dough. Wrap in cling film and chill for at least 1 hour. Knead the dough again and roll it out on a well-floured work surface. Cut out round cookies and trim a little of the edges on the right and left. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake at 180°C (top/bottom heat) until light to golden yellow. The baking time varies depending on the oven and the size of the cutters; approx. 8-10 minutes. Then let cool completely. To decorate the Minions, mix 100g of icing sugar with yellow food coloring and water, and 100g of icing sugar with blue food coloring and water, each until you have a thick icing. It is important that the consistency (thick!) is right. First, paint a Minion head on each cookie with the yellow icing. Then, using the blue icing, draw a pair of pants onto each Minion cookie. Use the back of a teaspoon, a paintbrush, or a small syringe, for example. Shape mini “bananas” out of marzipan, place them on the Minions’ stomachs, and press them down firmly. Once the blue icing has dried, use the yellow icing to draw arms onto the Minions. Briefly melt the dark chocolate in the microwave. Use a toothpick or similar to draw on hands (it should look as if the Minions are holding the bananas), feet, a mouth, lines for the glasses, and hair. Use the white beads from the shower chain for the eyes; simply place them onto the chocolate line for the glasses. Allow everything to dry thoroughly.
