Mirabelle Compote

The perfect mirabelle compote recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Mirabelle plums
  • 250 ml Water
  • 4 Tbsp, deleted Sugar
  • A smAll piece of A cinnAmon stick
  • 1 Star anise
  • 0,25 Vanilla pod, cut open
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  1. Wash and stone the mirabelle plums.
  2. For the brew, bring the water with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla pod, star anise and lemon juice to a boil in a saucepan and simmer until the sugar has dissolved. Season to taste, possibly adding a little more sugar. Add the mirabelle plums to the boiling stock, bring to the boil again and cover and let simmer briefly over low heat until the mirabelle plums are soft but not overcooked.
  3. Pour the mirabelle compote into a bowl and allow to cool.
  4. Tastes good with sweet casseroles or pastries.
