Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
makes 4 hamburgers or cheeseburgers
Knead the ground beef with a little salt and pepper into a smooth dough. Dice the onion and fry in a little oil until light brown, then remove from the pan. Quarter the ground beef dough and shape into even burgers (makes 4). Fry in the pan (where the onions were previously) until crispy. In the meantime, thinly slice the cucumber, cut the buns in half crosswise, and lightly bake in the oven or microwave for 20 seconds just before serving. When the burgers are almost done, add the bacon to the pan, fry until crispy, and let them drain on kitchen paper. If you like, you can add a slice of cheese to each burger and let it melt slightly in the pan. Spread some mustard on the warm bottom half of the bun, top with onions, cucumbers, and bacon, place the burger on top, and garnish with a generous dollop of ketchup. Put the lid on and enjoy. Serve with fries or coleslaw, an American coleslaw.
