Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g flour
  • 30 g baking cocoa
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 ml oil
  • 150 ml milk
  • 40 g chocolate chips
  • 12 candies (Kinder chocolate candies)
  • 24 mini marshmallows
  • 12 Smarties
  • 50 g dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Makes 12. Preheat oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat) and line a muffin tin with paper baking cups. For the muffin batter, mix flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In a second bowl, combine eggs, oil, and milk. Stir together the dry and wet ingredients. Then fold in the chocolate chips. Divide the batter between the muffin cases. Press a chocolate candy into each muffin and cover with a little more batter. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, then let it cool completely on a wire rack. Use the melted chocolate to stick the Smarties in the center of the muffins – these will form the noses of the faces. For the eyes, slightly flatten two mini marshmallows and attach them above the Smarties with the chocolate. Use the melted chocolate to draw small dots on the eyes as pupils. Let everything dry briefly and serve.
