Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g butter, room temperature
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • ½ tsp vanilla paste
  • 300 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Food coloring in rainbow colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 55 minutes

for 36 pieces

Makes about 36 pieces. Quickly knead the flour, baking powder, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and butter by hand until you have a smooth dough. Wrap in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Then divide the dough into six equal portions and dye each one a different color. First, shape the purple dough into an even log about 1cm in diameter. Roll out the blue dough so that you can wrap the purple log exactly inside it. Seal the seam tightly. Continue in this way with the other pieces of dough in the order green, yellow, orange, and red. Wrap the log in cling film and freeze for 45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat). Cut the log into slices about 0.5 to 1cm thick. Then halve these again to create little rainbows. Bake on a baking tray lined with baking paper for 5-8 minutes until light golden, then let cool.
