Mulled Wine Syrup

The perfect mulled wine syrup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 liter Red currant juice
  • 400 gr Brown raw cane sugar
  • 1 piece Organic orange
  • 1 piece Organic lemon
  • 100 ml Orange juice
  • 50 ml Lemon juice
  • 4 piece Cinnamon sticks
  • 4 piece Star anise
  • 10 piece Cloves
  • 1 piece Vanilla pod (pulp only)
  • 2 piece Black tea bags
  • 2 piece Tea bag – ginger elderflower
  1. Put the currant juice with the sugar in a suitable saucepan. Scrape out the pulp from the vanilla pod. Rub the peel of the citrus fruits. Put everything together with the spices in the pot and cook vigorously for 15 minutes.
  2. Take the pot off the stove and add the tea bags. Put the lid on and let it sit for 45 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, rinse out 3 vials of 0.33 liters each with hot water.
  4. Now fill the syrup through a sieve into the bottle and let it cool down.
  5. To enjoy, we now give a good white wine, who also wants red wine, in a tea glass, add the delicious syrup according to taste and heat the glass under steam …… but also works on the stove or in the microwave .
  6. Now cuddle up on the sofa and enjoy with someone ……………………
