Mushrooms with tomato and cream cheese filling

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 bowl of fresh mushrooms (500 g)
  • 200 g herb cream cheese
  • 2 tsp tomato paste
  • 80 g cheese (Gouda or Edam), grated
  • some salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Wash and hollow out the mushrooms, finely dice some of the stems. Mix the cream cheese, tomato paste, and seasonings thoroughly, then stir in the diced stems. Place the mushrooms on a baking sheet or in a shallow dish and fill with the cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Place the dish in the preheated oven. Bake at 180–200°C for approximately 30–35 minutes (depending on the size of the mushrooms). Serve with salad and bread or as a side dish for a barbecue.
